A PRAYER FOR GUIDANCE

We all need direction in our lives. There is no direction more necessary than the guidance granted by our Heavenly Father.

Our relationship with God is the most important one in our lives. Psalm 25 reminds us that God guides the humble in what is right and that He teaches us His ways. God’s guidance provides the divine wisdom needed to choose right over wrong, others over self, and His will over our own selfish desires. Relying on God’s will over our own is the only way to lasting freedom and peace.

May this daily prayer for guidance fill you to overflowing and offer you the courage required to choose Him over the world. “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world, you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world,” John 16:33.

Grant us a SPIRIT of reason, LORD,

and FAITH to do Your WILL.

Guide us to Your HOLY WORD,

with PATIENCE to be still.

Fill our hearts with MERCY, LORD,

within us light a fire,

so that we seek Your PURPOSE, LORD,

and not our own desires.

Unify our minds, LORD,

bring PEACE to our unrest.

Help us to rely on You,

Your GRACE and HOLINESS.

For You promise healing, LORD,

and FORGIVENESS for our sins.

With abiding LOVE and FAITHFULNESS,

You search the hearts of men.

From deepest scarlet to purest snow,

You transform dark to LIGHT.

Standing firm before us, LORD,

You gift the blind with sight.

Your MERCY reaches for the lost.

You free us from temptation.

For by Your stripes we have been saved,

and granted true SALVATION.

AMEN.

May the Lord guide and protect us and keep us from harm. May His face shine upon us, lighting our way in the darkness, and may His faithfulness and love reign in our hearts now and forever. Amen.

I’m JN Fenwick.

Wife, mom, but more importantly, a recovering alcoholic with a grateful heart. For years, I struggled, not just with alcohol, but with an eating disorder and the burdens of guilt and shame. On March 22, 2018, I surrendered my life to Christ. I was 51. God did not forsake me. He welcomed me, as undeserving as I am. He did not see my brokenness. Instead, He saw my potential. My Recovery Journey is one of Faith. From the ashes of my failures, God built a fire in me. A fire that guides each step I take. My journey is yours. My healing can be yours, too. God is a mighty warrior. You can take comfort in the promise that the Lord will fight for you and grant you peace.
