Poetry is nearer to vital truth than history. — Plato
I’ve been writing poetry my entire life. I write about the lessons I’ve learned and the things I wish I’d learned sooner. I write about my faith, my recovery journey, and the dreams of my heart. Mostly, I write about love and the ever-changing seasons I’ve experienced because of it. They’re just words scribbled on scraps of paper, written in my journals, and typed into my notes app until they find their way here, where I hope they find you — XO, JN Fenwick.

Poetry is part of me.

Each word a gift
from God to me.
Words pouring from
the heart of me.
Verses rising from
the faith in me.
Meters singing of
the hope in me.
Lines echoing
the love in me.
Words capturing
the grief in me.
Poetry is the gift
that became
my salvation.
