An anchor is a person or thing that can be relied on for support, stability, or security; a mainstay. Faith is the anchor that tethers us to hope.
Faith is our anchor in this life. It has to be — for the world is fickle and always changing. Storms will come and go. We’ll face trials and endure hardships and sorrow in this world. Only with a firm foundation of faith and trust in God can we overcome life’s challenges, learn from them, and grow in wisdom and humility.
Alone, we are weak. That’s why faith must be our cornerstone, the firm foundation upon which we place our trust and to which we anchor our hope.
God’s plan for our salvation is the cornerstone of faith.
A cornerstone is a principal stone placed at the corner of a building, joining two walls and bearing the weight of the structure. Biblically, the cornerstone symbolizes the foundation and strength of God’s plan for us. Our salvation began before the creation of the universe when God planned the history of redemption, ordained the death and resurrection of His Son, and chose us to be His own through Christ.
Our God is faithful. He created us in His image. He loves us and longs for us to return to Him. To dwell with Him in His holy kingdom for all eternity. Our faith in God must be unwavering — a solid foundation that affirms our confidence in His promises and that supports and sustains our hope and belief in the unseen, eternal truths of His kingdom.

FAITH is the anchor
that tethers our HOPE.
It lights every darkness,
keeping PROMISE afloat.
FAITH strengthens our assurance
in MIRACLES unseen.
Casting out fear,
So we choose to BELIEVE,
that the GIFTS we are given,
even those unexplained,
come from a POWER,
bearing only one NAME.
Our FATHER in HEAVEN,
CREATOR of all,
Who shelters and guides us,
through trials great and small.
It’s the FAITH of our fathers,
passed down through the ages,
that keeps HOPE alive,
In a world always changing.
FAITH that is steadfast,
born of unfailing LOVE.
Believing all MERCY,
flows from ABOVE.
From the gift of SALVATION,
to the smallest of seeds,
that move every mountain,
and fulfill every need.
It is HOPE that uplifts us,
and in FAITH that we PRAY,
for unwavering conviction,
in the POWER of HIS NAME.
