THINGS I TELL MY DAUGHTERS

Adversity is not something to fear. Grow in grace. You are enough. Love is bigger than your pain. My daughters inspire me. Everything good inside me comes from loving them.

When I consider the blessings in my life, none is more precious to me than my husband and our children. In that, I include my son-in-law, who’s been part of our family since he and our daughter began dating in high school.

Things I Tell My Daughters is a collection of poems and thoughts inspired by and written for my daughters. Things I’ve learned, things I wish I’d learned sooner, and wishes and dreams that come from my heart. They’re written in journals, on scraps of paper, and in my notes app until they find their way here, where I hope they find you — XO, JN Fenwick.

Everything we are is a gift from our Creator. Every breath is an opportunity to fulfill His divine purpose.

We have to make mistakes, feel the sting of disappointment, and stumble before we truly understand. Wisdom, after all, is earned in the storm, and it doesn’t matter when the lessons come. What matters is that we learn them when they do. So, live. Embrace this one life with all you are. But, as you’re living, never forget that you were born with a purpose, and that purpose comes from God.

Wisdom is timeless and for all ages. It doesn’t matter when it finds us. What matters is what we do with it when it does.
