MY STRENGTH AND PORTION FOREVER

Our true and lasting security and peace come from being close to God.

God is continually with us, our strength and portion forever.

He holds our right hand, guides us with wisdom, and promises us a future in glory.

God shifts our focus from earthly envy, declaring that nothing in heaven or on earth compares to Him.

Our physical bodies and emotional hearts will fail, but God remains our permanent anchor and strength.

A poem inspired by Psalm 73:23-28.

My flesh and my heart may fail.

But You are my portion forever.

My body may grow weary,

but You are my anchor and tether.

You are my Sovereign Refuge,

when I seek the comfort of Your Word.

There is no one besides You,

who can save me from this world.

You are always with me,

holding my right hand.

When temptation seeks me,

You uphold me where I stand.

You are my Great Defender,

Strengthening me in Faith.

Even as You ask me,

to be patient and to wait.

You send Your Holy Spirit,

to fulfill all of my needs.

I will proclaim Your Glory.

I will tell of all Your deeds.

You guide me with Your counsel.

You are the Author of my story.

The One who seeks to know me,

who will take me into Glory.

Whom have I in Heaven,

But You, the Promised One?

The God of all Creation,

Thy Holy will be done.
