FIND ME IN THE STILLNESS

If I could share one truth with you, one absolute that has been reaffirmed in my life, it is this — With God, all things are possible.

In the storm, we cry out. In the stillness, we falter. But it’s in the stillness that God meets us. He doesn’t falter. He waits.

Those arent just words; they are a promise.

Exodus 14:14 assures us that the Lord will fight for us. But it also tells us that we must be still.

Stillness is hard. It doesn’t come to us easily. We doubt and fear before we reach. We try to control what was never ours to hold.

God delivered Israel from bondage. Even so, they wandered in the desert for decades, unable to fully accept God’s will. Little by little, they tried to take back control. We’re no different.

Our task is to be faithful in the stillness, not just in the storm. We’re called to trust. Our understanding is limited. God’s is absolute.

His faithfulness does not waver.

To truly know God, we must be still.

God enters quietly. So quietly, we often fail to hear His call.

We wait for the trumpet’s blare. For a crack of thunder to signal His presence. For some unmistakable sign to direct us, when the signs are already there.

When the wind rustles the leaves, God is calling. In a baby’s cry, His voice is heard. Through the silence of the night, He whispers.

In stillness, He comes.

Meet me in the stillness, He beckons.

Find me in the silence. I am there. I will fight for you. I’ll carry what you cannot. I am your strong shelter, your fortress, and refuge forever. Lay your burdens down. Let your faith arise.

Have I not promised to deliver you?

There’s nothing I cannot do. Even when you don’t understand, I do. When the answers are different than the ones you seek, trust Me anyway.

When the enemy enters, know that I will defend you. I’ll never give you more than you can handle. I’ll never leave your side.

My peace is found in the stillness.

Reach for me in the stillness. Allow me to enter. My peace will wrap around you. My love will fill you. Nothing will keep me from you.

You are my child. My chosen and beloved. I sent my Son to die for you. He gave everything that you might live. What have you to fear? Find me in the stillness, and I will give you rest.

LORD, You are my rock and fortress,

the God of all my days.

You lift me from the darkness,

and with MERCY light my way.

You are a mighty champion,

in Your PRESENCE

my enemies stumble.

Before You, LORD, I lay my life.

Teach me to be humble.

To reach for You when the waters rise,

to TRUST that You are near,

that no matter what I’m facing, LORD,

There’s nothing I should fear.

For You are my safe STRONGHOLD,

My REFUGE from the world.

The STRENGTH I need to overcome,

is present in Your WORD.

Your GRACE abounds, Your LOVE transcends,

and Your SPIRIT overcomes.

With just a word, You heal all wounds.

Your HOLY WILL be done.

Here on earth,

in the NAME of HEAVEN,

may every knee bow down.

In You alone SALVATION rests.

In stillness, You are found.

I’m JN Fenwick

Wife, mom, but more importantly, a recovering alcoholic with a grateful heart. For years, I struggled, not just with alcohol, but with an eating disorder and the burdens of guilt and shame. On March 22, 2018, I surrendered my life to Christ. I was 51. God did not forsake me. He welcomed me, as undeserving as I am. He did not see my brokenness. Instead, He saw my potential. My Recovery Journey is one of Faith. From the ashes of my failures, God built a fire in me. A fire that guides each step I take. My journey is yours. My healing can be yours, too. God is a mighty warrior. You can take comfort in the promise that the Lord will fight for you and grant you peace.
