ESTABLISH THE WORK OF MY HANDS

When we work hard at something, we want it to matter.

We want our effort to have meaning. To reach those who need it.

We work hard, but ultimately it’s God who gives lasting significance to the work we do.

It’s God who establishes and confirms the work of our hands.

A poem inspired by Psalm 9:17.

May the work of my hands,

Glorify Your Holy Name.

May the words I speak,

Bring honor to the same.

May the favor of the LORD

Shine through all I do.

May every breath I take,

Lead other lives to You.

May the gifts that You give,

Advance Your Holy Kingdom,

guiding hearts to seek Your Son,

and the promise of salvation.

May I humbly serve,

Your purpose in all things,

trusting in Your mercy,

to fulfill my every need.

May I willingly surrender

all that I am to You,

walking in Your perfect grace,

Nurtured in the Truth.
