The 66 books of the Bible, written over 1,500 years, tell the story of God’s unconditional and abiding love for humanity.
The Bible is the good news and the greatest story ever told. It’s the living word of God — the story of His love made manifest in the life and death of His Son, Jesus Christ.
Jesus is the fulfillment of the living word of God.
Jesus came to fulfill the prophecy of the Old Testament. In perfect obedience to His Father, He became the great sacrifice for sin, to which all the prophets had pointed. Moreover, His suffering paid the price, His sacrifice defeated death, and His resurrection opened forever the gates of Heaven.
In Jesus of Nazareth, the God of the Old Testament became man and walked among His people, showing us how to pray, how to live, and how to remain faithful to God in all things: “Learn from me, for I am meek and humble of heart. Take my yoke upon you, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light,” Matthew 11:29.
Obeying the living word of God makes us whole.
Jesus saved us and brought us into perfect communion with the Father and the Holy Spirit. For this reason, accepting Christ as our Savior is the foundation of our faith. Following His teachings shows us how to live. Being obedient to God’s word makes us whole.
In the beginning, was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through him, and without him was not any thing made that was made. In him was life, and the life was the light of men. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.
