The 66 books of the Bible, written over 1,500 years, tell the story of God’s unconditional and abiding love for humanity.
There’s a reason the Bible is often referred to as the good news and the greatest story ever told. It’s the story of God’s love made manifest in the life and death of His Son, Jesus Christ.
Jesus came to fulfill the prophecy of the Old Testament, in perfect obedience to His Father, by becoming the great sacrifice for sin, to which all the prophets had ever pointed. His suffering paid the price, His sacrifice defeated death, and His resurrection opened forever the gates of Heaven.
In Jesus of Nazareth, the God of the Old Testament became man and walked among His people showing us how to pray, how to live, and how to remain faithful to God in all things: “Learn from me, for I am meek and humble of heart. Take my yoke upon you, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light,” (Matthew 11:29).
It is only through Jesus that we are saved and brought into perfect communion with the Father and the Holy Spirit. It is only through our faith and obedience to God’s word that we are made whole. “Since you have accepted Christ Jesus as Lord, live in union with him. Keep your roots deep in him, build your lives on him, and become stronger in your faith, as you were taught. And be filled with thanksgiving,” (Colossians 2:6-7).

The Living Word of God,
manifested through His Son,
from beginning to the end,
in sacred flesh took form.
Anointed by the Spirit,
the prophecy was spoken,
until upon a cross,
the chains of death were broken.
The stone was rolled away,
the covenant completed,
by His stripes, our debt was paid,
the darkness was defeated.
Scripture bears the good news,
God’s promises fulfilled,
the Lamb of God has conquered death,
and shown us how to live.

In the beginning, was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through him, and without him was not any thing made that was made. In him was life, and the life was the light of men. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.
