THE OBEDIENCE THAT SAVES

Through a young woman’s faithful obedience, God’s eternal plan for our salvation unfolded.

Mary’s obedience is the obedience beseeched of all. To stand firm in faith. Walk the path God sets before us without fear. We don’t have to know where it leads. We just have to follow.

The Handmaiden of the Lord Accepted God’s Call

Mary lived, loved, followed, and wept the tears only a mother could. She understood her path led to the cross.

She stood at the foot. There until the end. From that cross, Jesus named her mother to all.

Through one young woman’s faithful obedience, God’s eternal plan for our salvation unfolded. The moment Mary said yes, the darkness receded. The moment God entered His creation, time stood still.

The Gift of Eternity

The gift of eternity didn’t just reach for mankind; He became part of it. His sacrifice ensured our redemption. His love for us crossed every barrier, overcame every obstacle, destroyed every enemy.

On a silent night, in a little town, the Word became flesh. Salvation had come. A young woman held Him in her arms, knowing she would one day relinquish Him to the covenant He came to fulfill.

Light wrapped in flesh. He carried the promise of salvation into the world. The promise of the cross He’d carry for us.

The carpenter said yes. The woman did too. Together they trusted God and received the gift.

The greatest gift the world has ever known.

The gift of a love so great it would save us. The Light of the Heaven that would be opened and the redemption undeserved but offered anyway.

Through Him, with Him, and in Him we are made clean. Not because we’re deserving but because God loves us and counts us as His own.

In humility, with grace and obedience, He came. The God of our fathers, the Maker of Heaven and of Earth, walked among us. Lived with us. Died for us. There is no greater love. No higher purpose.

We’re saved because He saved us.

Not on a field of battle, not from a throne of riches, but from a manger that foreshadowed a cross. In Him there is life. The only life that matters. The life that tore the veil and defeated death to offer us eternity.

As the heart absorbs the magnitude of the gift, it also asks, “Have I been obedient?”

Do I truly understand the weight of the sacrifice and the miracle of that night?

And the one on Calvary?

The one that tore the veil in two and assured my salvation?

Have I done enough?

Can I ever?”

He came for me.

Died for me.

Do I live for Him?

I’m JN Fenwick.

Wife, mom, but more importantly, a recovering alcoholic with a grateful heart. For years, I struggled, not just with alcohol, but with an eating disorder and the burdens of guilt and shame. On March 22, 2018, I surrendered my life to Christ. I was 51. God did not forsake me. He welcomed me, as undeserving as I am. He did not see my brokenness. Instead, He saw my potential. My Recovery Journey is one of Faith. From the ashes of my failures, God built a fire in me. A fire that guides each step I take. My journey is yours. My healing can be yours, too. God is a mighty warrior. You can take comfort in the promise that the Lord will fight for you and grant you peace. | Exodus 14:14.
