BROKEN CHAINS

Christ’s death on the cross was the payment for the sins of all who believe. His death broke the chains and set us free.

God did not create evil, nor did He create sin. Creation is an extension of God’s perfect, unconditional love.

Evil came into the world through Satan’s rebellion against God.

Satan revolted because he was envious of God. Because of that, he and those who followed him were banished from Heaven. They are forever separated from God. They understand their eternal fate, and therefore, prey on the world trying to drag down as many souls as possible.

Satan’s actions brought the chains of suffering, tribulation, and death into the world. However, according to Genesis, sin entered the world through Adam and Eve. Tempted by Satan, their sinful act against God was the original sin.

It was also the beginning of God’s plan for our redemption.

Our broken chains came at a price. Jesus paid that price with His precious blood.

God did not forsake His creation. Instead, He sent us a Savior. “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life,” John 3:16.

Through God’s grace and the sacrifice of His Son, we are granted the gift of salvation. Through Christ’s suffering, death, and resurrection, we are made right with God. Thus, instead of being eternally separated from God by sin, we have been placed in eternal union with Him, through our faith in Christ.

Christ’s unconditional, abiding, and everlasting love broke the chains and set us free.

He broke my chains

and set me free.

My God,

My Savior,

alive in me.

The past is gone,

washed in His blood.

Redeeming rain.

Abiding love.
