“This, then, is how you should pray: “Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us today our daily bread. And forgive us our debts as we also have forgiven our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.”
Matthew 6:9-13

Remind us how to pray, Lord,
in the words our Savior taught us,
to seek the full salvation,
of the sacrifice He bought us.
Our Father who art in Heaven,
Thy will on earth be done,
from the moment of our rising,
to the setting of the sun.
Encircle us in mercy,
in the goodness of Your ways,
so that our hearts reside within,
the fortress of Your grace.
Give us, Lord, the daily bread,
that nourishes our souls.
Holy manna rain from Heaven,
and make us strong and whole.
Forgive us of our actions, Lord,
that separate from You,
instill in us Your mercy,
so we forgive all others too.
Turn us from temptation, Lord,
from the evils of this world,
strengthen us in spirit,
return us to Your word.
For Yours is the Kingdom, God,
the power and the glory.
You are the author, Lord,
of all creation’s story.
Remind us how to pray, Lord,
with the same faith as Your Son,
“Take from me my own desires,
so that Your will be done.”
