Be Still and Know that I Am

In these troubling times, it is easy to lose hope. It’s easy to forget God’s promise and His plan. The world struggles to maintain its foothold. Evil persists whether we acknowledge it or not. It always will.

Our first and last line of defense against every evil, against the fickle nature of the world, against this battle for our souls, is GOD.

Be still, and know that I am God.

Psalm 46:10

There’s so much peace to be found at the feet of the Savior. So much hope and strength. And yet, oftentimes in our darkest hour, we forget to reach out to Him. We demand answers to our questions. We demand deliverance from our hardships. We demand acknowledgment of our grievances. We demand without a sincere willingness to surrender control to Him.

Even so, God waits patiently. He doesn’t demand. He doesn’t cajole. He doesn’t threaten us into submission. Why? Because that’s not the surrender He wants. He desires our hearts. His love for us is so great, that He wants us to come freely and fully into His presence. “You will seek me and find me, when you seek me with all your heart,” Jeremiah 29:13.

Lord, I pray that we as individuals, as a nation, as Your beloved children, return our hearts and minds to the shelter of Your presence. That we surrender freely, willingly, and with all our hearts to the Truth of Your Word and the promise of eternity made manifest through the sacrifice of Your Son. Instill in us a spirit of humility so that we may be living examples of the love You have for us. Amen.

The Lord will fight for us.

We need only to be still.

That does not mean,

we’re absolved of responsibility.

It means we are called,

To choose Faith over Fear.

To Trust in His Promises.

To Believe in His Word.

The Lord will stand before us.

Defend and Protect us.

Bring us safely through the storm.

That is His Promise.

We need only to be still.

The Lord will order our steps.

Secure our footing.

Fulfill our every need.

Provide Rest when we are weary.

Comfort when we are struggling.

Calm the angry waters,

and fill our souls with Peace.

That is His Promise.

We need only to be still.

Behold, I am with you and will keep you wherever you go and will bring you back to this land. For I will not leave you until I have done what I have promised you.
