CREATION: GOD REVEALED

It’s impossible to look at the natural world and not see God. His divine nature is clearly revealed in creation.

Creation reveals God’s power and divinity; the gospel reveals God’s plan for our salvation through Christ. In Romans 1, Paul explains that the evidence for the existence of God is so overwhelming and clear that we have no excuse for not believing in Him!

The Living Word of God

In Romans 1:16, Paul boldly proclaims that Jesus Christ alone is the divine source of salvation, “For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes.

Having experienced the saving power of Christ on the road to Damascus, Paul isn’t ashamed of the gospel. Rather, he willingly and obediently proclaims its truth without reservation or fear despite the threat of mockery and persecution.

The gospel isn’t just information; it’s the living word of God Himself. It points us to Christ, who is God’s word made flesh. It’s through Christ that salvation entered the world and through belief in Christ that we are saved.

To know God, Paul points us to creation.

God makes Himself known to us through creation.

Paul tells us that our knowledge of God is plain because it’s been revealed to us through creation itself. “For the righteousness of God is revealed—a righteousness that is by faith from first to last,” (Romans 1:17).

God’s righteousness isn’t something we earn or achieve through our own efforts. It’s a gift from God received through faith.

It’s impossible to look at the natural world and not see God. Every sunrise, sunset, blade of grass, and drop of rain reveals God’s power and His presence. Creation sings His glory.

How then can we deny His existence?

God’s invisible attributes, His divine nature, and His eternal power are evident through what He has made.

God is invisible to the human eye, but His presence is visible in creation. Thus, Paul explains that the primary barrier to knowing God isn’t a lack of information; it’s willful suppression of the truth (Romans 1:25).

The vastness of the universe itself points to an inexhaustible source of power, while the order and design of creation point to a divine Creator distinct from the world He made.

God allows us to know Him through creation. In fact, Paul tells us the evidence that God exists is so clear in nature that we have no excuse for denying His existence. Moreover, we’re accountable to God whether we acknowledge Him or not.

LORD, may we accept the masterpiece of creation as proof that You are God! May our faith in Christ deliver us from all sin, and may we proclaim our trust in Your Holy Word forever and ever, Amen!

The Beauty of God’s Masterpiece

Look around, and you will see,

the beauty of God’s Masterpiece.

The light that shines with strands of gold,

upon the sky for centuries old.

The songs that echo through the hills,

to serenade the daffodils.

The peaks and valleys that we roam.

The winding roads that lead us home.

The rivers wide and oceans deep.

The stars that glimmer as we sleep.

The clouds that drift across the sky.

The moon that guards us through the night.

The desert plains that team with life.

The seas that answer to the tides.

The universe that’s yet unknown.

All of this He calls His own.

And we, the last of His creation,

formed in His image, marked for salvation.

Placed above each one of these,

to protect and guard His Masterpiece.

He’s the reason that the mountains

always reach toward the sky.

The reason the eagles

spread their wings to soar so high.

They hear the calling of their Maker,

and so they long to be,

where He lives and reigns forever,

for all eternity.

I’m JN Fenwick.

Wife, mom, but more importantly, a recovering alcoholic with a grateful heart. For years, I struggled, not just with alcohol, but with an eating disorder and the burdens of guilt and shame. On March 22, 2018, I surrendered my life to Christ. I was 51. God did not forsake me. He welcomed me, as undeserving as I am. He did not see my brokenness. Instead, He saw my potential. My Recovery Journey is one of Faith. From the ashes of my failures, God built a fire in me. A fire that guides each step I take. My journey is yours. My healing can be yours, too. God is a mighty warrior. You can take comfort in the promise that the Lord will fight for you and grant you peace.
